12/5/2007 - LEAF COLLECTION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JANUARY 11, 2008

LEAF PICK UP INFORMATION

Due to weather conditions, Leaf Pick Up has been extended to January 11, 2008.  The Public Works Department is collecting leaves in full force this week.  It takes approximately 8-10 days to get through the whole town, so if the trucks go past your street it will be another 8-10 days before they return to your area.  They will continue with the leaf collection until 1/11/08.

Please remember to keep sticks or any other debris out of the leaf piles because this could cause damage to the leaf picker and slow the leaf collection process.  Thank you for your cooperation.

NEW JERSEY STORMWATER REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT LEAVES ARE TO BE PLACED AT LEAST 10 FEET AWAY FROM ANY STORM DRAIN.

LEAVES MAY BE PLACED IN THE STREET ONLY DURING DESIGNATED LEAF PICK UP TIMES.  PLACE LEAVES OUT AT THE CURB--NOT IN BAGS.  BAGGED LEAVES WILL NOT BE PICKED UP BY EITHER THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OR WITH YOUR REGULAR TRASH.

DO NOT PUT LEAVES OUT RIGHT AFTER THE TRUCKS GO DOWN YOUR STREET--IT TAKES APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS FOR THE TRUCKS TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE TOWN AND THEN THEY WILL START BACK AROUND AGAIN.
