Man Arrested for False Armed Robbery Report

On October 25, 2008 at approximately 12:30 AM Delanco Police Officers responded to the Camp Meeting Grounds Shopping Center located at 801 Burlington Avenue for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival Officers spoke with James L. Kuhn who reported that three males robbed him while brandishing a handgun and took his Adidas bag containing about $300.00 in money, electronics, and other items. Mr. Kuhn was not injured during the incident. Delanco Police, with the assistance of officers and a K-9 unit from surrounding towns conducted a search of the area with negative results.

Police later viewed security surveillance video from businesses in the shopping center and discovered inconsistencies with the information provided by Mr. Kuhn. Further investigation revealed that a robbery did not take place at the shopping center. As a result of the investigation, on November 3, 2008 Mr. Kuhn was arrested for Filing a False Police Report. At the time of his arrest Mr. Kuhn had in his possession a hypodermic needle which he attempted to hide from the police by discarding the needle in a trash can. The needle was recovered by the Delanco Police and Mr. Kuhn was further charged with Possession of A Hypodermic Needle, and Improper Discarding a Hypodermic Needle. Mr. Kuhn was released on summonses pending a court appearance.
