7/28/2022 - 200 Ash Street Demolition Update - July 28, 2022

July 28, 2022 – Updated Information on Demolition of Vacant Structure at 200 Ash Street

The Township of Delanco has awarded a demolition contract to raze the three story brick building located at 200 Ash Street at Rancocas Ave.  This notice is to provide residents of Delanco in that area with the latest information on the nature of this work.

The contract was awarded to F. R. Beinke Wrecking, Inc. of Swedesboro, NJ.  The demolition operations will be overseen by the Township Engineer, Environmental Resolutions, Inc. (ERI) of Mount Laurel, NJ.  The representatives from ERI for this project are Harry Fox and Alex Haffner.

The structure contains some asbestos containing materials, specifically, floor tiles, roofing materials and the faux brick siding that covers the exterior windows.  An asbestos remediation plan was approved by our engineer and NJDEP, both will be providing inspection of the abatement as required.  The asbestos abatement will be performed in accordance with all State, Local and Federal regulations.  The abatement work has commenced and is anticipated to be completed during the duration of the project.

The building demolition will commence on or about 8/15/22 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.  The Contractor will use all standard methods to control dust, vibrations and noise associated with the demolition operations.  All work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM, Mondays through Thursdays.  During demolition activities, the Contractor will be monitoring the vibration levels at the property line in order to assure that all vibrations are within industry standards.  In addition, prior to the demolition work, the building will be inspected by a licensed exterminator and certified that all rodents, insects, birds and animals are properly disposed or relocated.

During certain times there will be extra truck traffic along Ash Street and Union Ave to Burlington Avenue as debris is taken away and fill material is being delivered.  The contractor estimates that this will average only a few trucks per day over a couple weeks.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact our engineers at ERI (856-235-7170) or the Township (856-461-0561).
