TRASH COLLECTION - South Jersey Sanitation

Trash Collection Day

  • Thursday; Trash cans may not be placed out earlier than 4:00pm the day preceding a scheduled collection day and must be out no later than 6:00am on the scheduled collection day.

NOTE - Cardboard boxes and recycling buckets cannot be used as trash containers.

Appliances and Metal Items

  • Will be picked up the 1st and 3rd Thursday OF EACH MONTH.
  • Place items at the curb no sooner than the evening before scheduled pickup
  • Call 856-461-0561 by Wednesday 3:00 pm to be put on the list.

Bulk Items

  • Will be picked up on Thursdays.
  • Large items: furniture, wood, mattresses, etc. (doesn't include metal or appliances).
  • Carpet/ must be cut into 4-foot wide section and rolled up into bundles no larger than 2 feet in diameter.

Construction Material

  • Contractors are responsible for removal and disposal of all construction debris.
  • Will be accepted, ONLY, from homeowners doing the work themselves.
  • A limit of 2 containers, no heavier than 50 pounds, can be placed at curbside on each trash collection day.

Tires

  • Will be picked up only after paying a pickup fee at the Municipal Building.

Wood and Wood Fences

  • Will be picked up with your regular trash on Thursday. 
  • Wood must be cut into 3-foot lengths, or smaller, and tied into bundles no heavier than 50 pounds. Wire cannot be used to secure bundles.
  • No more than 3 bundles can be placed at curbside on trash pickup day.

  Household Hazardous Waste

  • DO NOT PUT PAINT, CHEMICALS, ASBESTOS OR ANY OTHER HAZARDOUS WASTE WITH YOUR TRASH.
  • Call The Burlington County Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 609.499.5200 for information on disposal of these items.
  • RECYCLE OLD COMPUTERS--Bring unwanted computer hard drives (CPUs) and monitors (up to six), keyboards, modems, printers, fax machines, VCRs and DVD players to the Burlington County Household Hazardous Waste Facility on Route 543 in Mansfield (exit 52A off I295).Items will be accepted Tuesday through Friday from 7AM to 3PM and Saturday 7AM to 2PM.  Free to Burlington County Residents--No other items will be accepted.  There is a $.10/lb fee for non-profits, businesses and schools who must call 609-499-5200 for an appointment.
